Hi Lisa, glad hear that you are doing so well. Great that that you were out and about today. I just wanted to say hello and take this opportunity to share with you my mother’s testimony. She too had breast cancer and has been cancer free for over thirty years GLORY to GOD, for that, I am thankful!

I am not a very good writer, and I am usually the quite one but God has placed in my heart to write to you. You remind me so much of my mother, your characters are very similar. You are both go getters, always the first to lend a helping hand. You are social butterflies; you both always have a smile on your face and see the positive in even in the most difficult of situations. You both are strong, beautiful Christian women (today), and for both of you, I am thankful!

The MAJOR difference between you/your situation and my mother's was that she did not have a relationship with Jesus. She was not a Christian at the time that she was diagnosed. But Praise God, YOU ARE my friend! And what a difference that has made and will make, and for that…. I am VERY thankful!

My mother at the age of 41, give or take a year was diagnosed with breast cancer. My brother was 16, my sister was 12 and I was only 5. I am currently 36! My father was a supportive, loving husband that helped her through the good, the bad and the ugly! He was wonderful with her, well with all of us! And although this cancer was a terrible thing that happened to our family, I must tell you that because of "it" our family/extended family today knows Christ.

Mom was an occasional church goer. In her time of need and desperation she went seeking for help to the church she had attended for years. She basically told them that she had suicidal thoughts and needed to speak to someone immediately. Sadly they told her to make an appointment that someone would contact her as soon as possible. Basically take a number! Please remember that at the time that my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer the technology/treatment for it was not what it is today. Not as common and people were very ignorant! At this time her very best friend "desde CUBA" had been attending a Christian/Lutheran church "Prince of Peace" to be exact. Her friend Mary had been encouraging her to go to one of their services... but of course, discouraged by the other church she just kept putting it off. Well on one of her “very bad days”, mom decided to no longer consider taking her life, she started making the necessary preparations to do so! Needless to say that God is GREAT, at that same moment two men knocked on her front door wanting to talk to her about Christ, wanting to pray for her needs....she immediately thought "OH, this must have been my friend Mary that sent them, I should just let them in, please her, and get it over with so I can move on!"

My friend Lisa, at that moment the two men prayed for her, she felt an overwhelming sense of PEACE, the love of Christ was so tremendous that she knew she had to give life another chance, if not for herself, for her family. She had experienced something incredibly different!

She went the very next Sunday to her friend’s church. My father who did whatever she asked accompanied her. The message that day was specifically to feed her needs, she felt as though GOD was talking to her directly. Talk about a Godincidence! She started sobbing, my father…so kind, was of course freaking out and continuously asking her if she did not feel well or was uncomfortable…. “just say the word and we’ll get out of here!!” You see my father had no idea of her prior thoughts. She continued strong, hearing HIS message. After the service was over, they prayed for her and mom received Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Thereafter she went looking for the two men that came knocking on her door to thank them. She asked her friend about the two men that she sent…her friend told her she had not sent anyone! Till this day no one knows who exactly they were. We believe with all our heart that they were Angels, protective angels sent by God to rescue her from HER sinking ship!!

From that moment on that she received HIM and allowed HIM to take control of her life. Her boat was finally stabilized! She walked into every therapy holding HIS hand, literally! She would say “I don’t care if people think I’m crazy, I will clench his hand in mine and together we will do this, for it is HE that strengthens me.”

To be honest my memories of these moments are vague and few since I was so young. I just remember her making us laugh even when she probably really felt like crying! She made a joke out of everything from her bald head being King Kong’s big roll-on. I remember chanting with my siblings “old King Kong had a big roll-on”. To her taking off her wig at a stop light to see the reaction from the driver next to her, of course she would make sure we were all looking…priceless!

So Lisa my friend, I can tell you that although her boat was ROCKED. And boy was it ROCKED! Her sea sickness was healed. Till this day, her boat has been anchored on the ROCK “Jesus Christ”. She is a fearless woman as you are too! And because of this “illness” so many people have come to know the Lord, I truly believe it was a blessing in disguise. He has a plan for you. He will not for sake you my friend, of that I am certain, and for that, I am also thankful. May God continue to bless you and your family! By the way my husband too was healed from thyroid cancer and as you know, he is strong as an ox, for that too, I am thankful ;)

With lots of love…..your friend... Rosemary
